Exercise Therapy

Exercise therapy at the OICC offers a motivating strength-training program designed to promote better health, strength, flexibility, posture, balance, bone density, stamina and body composition.

It is available to anyone in the community who has been touched by cancer, whether they have been diagnosed, know someone with cancer, or are wishing to prevent cancer.

What to expect from exercise therapy

Participants are guided once a week through a 70-minute strength training routine. Once learned, this routine can also be done weekly a second or third time at home or at a gym. A new routine will be introduced periodically. Various levels of exercise intensity are designed to appeal to all fitness levels. The classes include a strong emphasis on exercise safety and proper technique with consideration of each person’s health status.
